Who writes this stuff?
I am Purnendu Gupta. I can call myself an IT outsourcing insider without risking exaggeration.
I worked for over 10 years at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global IT consulting / outsourcing firm, part of the Tata group, the first and largest of its kind in India and a global top ten player. In my last job at TCS, I was responsible for managing presales and new business development targeting high value deals in North America and have an up close and personal view of U.S. based customer perspectives and trends in outsourcing. I have also seen the inner workings of outsourcing through technology, program management and client relationship management lenses during various engagements with Fortune 500 clients in retail, energy and professional services sectors.
I left TCS in 2010 on a two year hiatus to pursue my MBA at Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School.
Why did you start this blog?
Originally this was a requirement of my Digital Markets course taught by Ravi Aron. Then I thought why not make it my own and share a few tricks of the trade that I have picked up over a decade of professional career? Can you beat that?
Why Blogger.com? Why not your own URL?
Because its free, robust, automatically indexed by Google (they own it) and being a Google product it has the highest probability of being around for the next five years. If you read between the lines you will know that 1) I am a skeptic and 2) I intend to hang around here for a while
What kind of stuff are you most interested in?
Anything that relates to information technology and sourcing strategy. That includes developments in the recent past, current trends, and a reasonable amount of crystal ball gazing. Of particular interest are authoritative articles and analysis, and specially videos.
I have a question for you / need tell you about this cool article. What's the best way to tell you?
I prefer you leave a comment on my post. I will see it.  If you feel you have a "for your eyes only" situation you can email me. But that is not the preferred mode of communication given the way I try to organize my work.
Can I use your material in my site?
Yes you may use a small amount of material (one or two paragraphs) as long as you provide a link to the original post.
Can I steal your entire posts for my automated aggregator blogs designed for Adsense?
No you may not. And if you do, men in black will come for you.
